FRAMING FUTURES
eu lab aims to empower universities to work
on grand social & environmental challenges.
what is eu lab
We live in unprecedented times; the climate emergency and global pandemics are testing our assumptions on how markets and society should work.

EU Lab is an Erasmus+ funded, interdisciplinary, immersive programme developed to enable students to work on place based wicked problems.

Established as a pilot concept, its aim is to transform the role of the University’s ability to make impact on real challenges. We want to enable meaningful change to happen in the University for future generations to feel empowered to tackle complex challenges.
What is our mission?
EU Lab's mission is to transform the role of the university and its ability to make real impact on the grand challenges of our time. We want to enable meaningful change at the local level by equipping 3rd level students to be active change agents working on place based mission led futures labs.

This educational approach requires deep systemic transformation including the upskilling of educators, the development of new types of curriculum (learning scaffold), and a kind of learning environment that supports self-determined learning.  This is a key focus of EULab as expressed in our toolkit and train the trainer programmes.
